Kathleen "Kathy" Rivers Hughes, 74, of Bradenton passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday August 9, 2017. She was born December 17, 1942 in Bradenton Florida and was a lifelong resident of Manatee County.

Kathy's pure love in life was being a devoted wife and mother. Her passion was raising her children and being very involved with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Kathy and Ron loved to travel and did so every summer on family vacations teaching the kids the history of our states. They also owned a home in the mountains of Murphy, North...

Kathleen "Kathy" Rivers Hughes, 74, of Bradenton passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday August 9, 2017. She was born December 17, 1942 in Bradenton Florida and was a lifelong resident of Manatee County.

Kathy's pure love in life was being a devoted wife and mother. Her passion was raising her children and being very involved with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Kathy and Ron loved to travel and did so every summer on family vacations teaching the kids the history of our states. They also owned a home in the mountains of Murphy, North Carolina.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years Ronald R Hughes in February 2016 and their first bornson Shane R Hughes in 1961.

She is survived by loving children Chris Hughes (Tammy) and Jason Hughes (Diana). Kathy is also survived by grandchildren Brandon Hughes, Tiffany Hughes, and Dristin Hughes; great-grandchildren Aleia Hughes, Jazlynn Council, Jacoby Council, and Jaedyn Council; step grandchildren Diondra Santibanez, Darian Williams, and Devyn Williams; and step great-grandchild Bentley Santibanez.

Kathy will be greatly missed by all the knew and loved her.

Viewing will be held Monday August 14, 2017 at 2:30pm to 3:30pm services following at the Historic Manasota Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 1221 53rd Ave East, Bradenton, FL 34203.
