Frances A. Douglas, 92, of Bradenton, was called home by Our Lord on Monday, September 12, 2016. She was born February 17, 1924 in Carrabelle, FL to Andrew and Agnes Vickers; who were residents of Terra Ceia Island.

Frances spent her entire childhood on the island farm until moving to the Five Points area of Sarasota during WWII for work. It was there she was offered a job working produce for a new grocery store called Lovett's Table Supply. She accepted the position and worked until the age of 84 for Lovett's which is...

Frances A. Douglas, 92, of Bradenton, was called home by Our Lord on Monday, September 12, 2016. She was born February 17, 1924 in Carrabelle, FL to Andrew and Agnes Vickers; who were residents of Terra Ceia Island.

Frances spent her entire childhood on the island farm until moving to the Five Points area of Sarasota during WWII for work. It was there she was offered a job working produce for a new grocery store called Lovett's Table Supply. She accepted the position and worked until the age of 84 for Lovett's which is now known as The Winn-Dixie Marketplace. Frances and her parents settled on the Southern end of Manatee County where she married William Lewis Douglas of East Manatee. Frances was a long-time member of Oneco First Baptist Church, where she worshipped and raised her family. Most recently, she was a member of the Samoset Baptist Church where her sweet smile will be very much missed.

She is survived by loving children, Frances Lufenia Graham of Floral City, FL, and Lewis "Andy" Douglas (Linda) of Wheatfield, IN; brother, William "Bill" Vickers (Rose) of Palmetto, FL; ten grandchildren; nineteen grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by husband, William Lewis Douglas; son, James William Douglas; brother, Riley Edward Vickers; and two sisters, Mattie Celia O'Neill and Mary Elizabeth Liedke.

Family will receive friends for a time of visitation Thursday, September 15, 2016 from 5:00-7:00 P.M at Manasota Memorial Park and Funeral Home; 1221 53rd Ave East, Bradenton, FL, 34203. Funeral Services will be held. 10:00 A.M Friday, September 16, 2016 at Manasota Memorial Park and Funeral Home. Interment at Mansion Memorial Park; 1400 36th Avenue West, Ellenton, FL, 34222 will follow at 11:30 A.M.
